Dry for most of central and northern Europe

Wednesday
Heavy rain affects Portugal and western parts of Spain today. Central, southern and eastern Spain remains dry and quite warm. Fair too for the Balearics, Corsica and Sardinia. Dry with sunshine for Italy, although scattered showers toward the south. Rain and thundery showers for the Balkan states and parts of Greece. Some rain too for western Turkey, but plenty of dry weather for most of Turkey and also Cyprus. Dry for France, although a lot of cloud, and a little patchy drizzle in the west. Cloudy and a little drizzle for Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. Dry for Switzerland. Some patchy rain for Austria and the Czech Republic. Unsettled in eastern Europe, with rain for Romania, Bulgaria and Ukraine. Cloudy but dry in Poland. A cool easterly breeze in Denmark, southern Sweden and the Baltic states. Plenty of dry weather for Scandinavia as a whole thanks to high pressure centred across the region.

Thursday
Outbreaks of rain continue to affect Portugal on Thursday, whilst most of Spain remains dry and fairly warm, if quite cloudy. Dry weather extends across the western and central Mediterranean, with sunshine for Italy and the Balkans. Dry for Greece, although a few scattered thundery showers may remain across the islands. Heavy rain for Turkey. Feeling warm in the south of France. Cloudy and a little drizzle in northern and western France. Cloudy but dry for the Low Countries and Germany, perhaps just a little drizzle here and there. Dry too for Switzerland and Austria. Low pressure centred near the Black Sea brings rain to eastern Europe, turning increasingly to snow as it spreads back west into Poland. Dry for Scandinavia overall, apart from the odd wintry flurry in southern Sweden. A few showers around the west coast of Norway. Feeling chilly around the Baltic.
