Strong winds in southern France


Friday
A bright and sunny day for most of Spain and Portugal on Friday, although the Biscay coast will see frequent showers. Scattered showers for the Balearics. The central Mediterranean is very unsettled with low pressure in charge. Locally gusty winds and heavy thundery rain will affect southern France, Corsica, Sardinia and much of southern Italy. Heavy rain too for the Adriatic region, many of the Balkan states and western Greece. The Greek Islands and Turkey are dry with occasional warm sunshine. Warm and dry in Cyprus. Showers in western France. Cool but drier toward the north and east of France. Mostly dry for Switzlerland and Austria, although quite cloudy. Variable cloud and dry for Germany and Poland. Patchy showery rain for Denmark. Cold and dry for eastern Europe. Rain and mountain snow for Norway and Sweden. Dry, cloudy and cool in Finland.

Saturday
Bright but cool across Spain and Portugal on Saturday. Dry overall in Iberia, with the odd shower near the coasts. Slow moving clusters of thundery rain for the Balearics, Corsica, Sardinia and southern Italy. Windy in southern France and the western Mediterranean. Snow over the French and Swiss Alps. Rain and snow for Austria and Hungary. Unsettled in south-east Europe, with thundery showers for Greece and western Turkey. Dry and sunny in Cyprus and eastern Turkey. Dry and bright in northern and western France. Patchy rain and drizzle across Germany and the Czech Republic, snow over the mountains. Cloudy and cold for Poland and eastern Europe. Dry and bright for Denmark and Sweden with rare showers. Windy and cold in Norway, with rain and mountain snow in the west. Snow spreads across Finland in the early hours, but it should be dry during the daytime.
