Cold and windy in northern Europe, showers to the south
Tuesday
A cold day across much of Europe. Rain and gales develops across Britain today. Expect a good deal of dry weather across France, Belgium, Holland and Denmark with a few coastal showers. Most of Spain and Portugal will have a dry day with sunny spells but a few rain and snow showers may affect northern Spain. Frequent heavy showers and longer spells of rain are likely from the Balearics eastward into Corsica and Sardinia with a scattering of showers across the eastern Mediterranean.
A lot of cloud across Italy with a few showers in the south. Cold with snow flurries across the Adriatic Region. Wet across Greece with rain while rain, sleet and snow is expected across Bulgaria and Romania. Cloudy with rain for Turkey. Cold, cloudy but dry across Germany, Poland and the Baltic States with snow forecast across Russia.
A cold day across Scandinavia but dry. Very windy conditions are expected across eastern Spain and across southern France and much of the Mediterranean.
Wednesday
A fine day through Spain and Portugal with plenty of sunshine and staying dry here too. More sunshine to come i the Balearics, although dry in central and northern Italy. A few showers, some heavy, in southern Italy. Heavy showers for Greece and Turkey.
Cloud and rain in France, but fair to the north with good spells of sunshine. Showers in the Low Countries and some heavy wintry showers in northern Germany with string winds here. Cloud and rain through eastern and southern Germany as well as Switzerland and Austria. Rain arrives in western Poland later. Hungary should be dry with sunny spells.
Gales for Denmark with heavy rain clearing to showers. Becoming windy in the Baltic States and cold here too. Gales for Finland but dry and chilly. Showery rain and strong winds to come across Sweden. Norway will have wintry showers, these merging into longer spells of rain later.
