Severe gales over much of northern Europe, a few showers in the Mediterranean

Wednesday
A fine day through Spain and Portugal with plenty of sunshine and staying dry here too. More sunshine to come in the Balearics, although dry in central and northern Italy. A few showers, some heavy, in southern Italy. Heavy showers for Greece and Turkey.
Cloud and rain in France, but fair to the north with good spells of sunshine. Showers in the Low Countries and some heavy wintry showers in northern Germany with string winds here. Cloud and rain through eastern and southern Germany as well as Switzerland and Austria. Rain arrives in western Poland later. Hungary should be dry with sunny spells.
Gales for Denmark with heavy rain clearing to showers. Becoming windy in the Baltic States and cold here too. Gales for Finland but dry and chilly. Showery rain and strong winds to come across Sweden. Norway will have wintry showers, these merging into longer spells of rain later.


Thursday
Showers affecting northern Spain on Thursday. Dry for most of Spain and Portugal with good spells of sunshine. Dry with sunny spels in the Balearics. Heavy showers in the far south of Italy but mostly dry for much of the country. Heavy showers or longer periods of rain over Greece and perhaps the far west of Turkey. Most of the rest of Turkey will be dry with sunny spells.
Scattered showers over the far south of France on Thursday with a few showers in the far north. Dry for the rest of France with sunny spells. Heavy showers and strong winds to come in the Low Countries, dry and breezy with sunny spells for Germany. Some patchy rain in the far north of Poland, dry to the south. Austria, Hungary and Switzerland will be rather cloudy with some patchy rain.
Gales in Denmark with sunny spells. Windy in the Baltic States and Finland with some snow showers here. Dry with sunny spells for Norway, heavy snow showers and strong wind in Norway.
