Rain in southeast Europe, but fair to the west
New Year's Day
Another fair day in Spain and Portugal. Lots of sunshine here and dry too. A few showers affecting eastern Italy, but the west should be staying dry with more sunshine here. Scattered heavy showers in Greece. Heavier rain in Turkey, especially in the south.
Frosty across France and Switzerland as well as Austria. There could be some freezing fog patches too, these slowly clearing to leave good spells of sunshine. Breezy with a few showers over the Low Countries and the far north of Germany. Cloudier in Poland, with some drizzle in the east.
Breezy with showery rain for Denmark. Breezy to in the Baltic States but dry here. Mostly dry through Finland, although some snow showers in the west later. Cloud and some showery snow across Sweden. Drier in Norway and fairly mild.
Friday
Plenty of sunshine for Spain and Portugal today. Sunny too across the Balearics. Some showers in Italy, most in the east. Showers and rain in Greece and Turkey, some of it heavy.
Fair in France with good sunny spells. More sunshine too for the Low Countries and most of Germany, although some cloud and rain on northern coasts. Fair in Poland, sunny spells. Austria, Switzerland and Hungary will be dry with some sunny spells.
Coud and some rain in Denmark, Breezy but dry through the Baltic States. Snow showers may affect Finland as well as Sweden. A few wintry showers over western Norway but mainly dry.
