Windy and rain to north, sunshine and dry to south
Wednesday
A fair day through Spain and Portugal with good spells of sunshine. A few showers over northern Italy, some of them heavy at times. Fair for Greece with more sunshine here. Heavier showers and strong winds in Turkey, the showers falling as sleet and snow in the north.
Fair in France with good spells of sunshine. Fog is likely early on, this clearing to sunshine in the afternoon. Fair through the Low Countries and northern Germany, but some showers in central Germany and Portugal. Fair for Austria, Switzerland and Hungary with sunny spells here.
Severe gales in the UK and Ireland. Fair for Denmark with sunny spells here. A band of cloud and a few showers in Norway and the Baltic States. Fair for Finland. Good spells of sunshine in Norway, but thickening cloud and increasing winds here later.
Thursday
Plenty of sunshine in Portugal and Spain today. More sunshine to come in the Balearics and through Italy as well, although a frost away from coasts. Dry and sunny for Greece and fine too in the west of Turkey, although cold here.
Breezy with some rain in northern France, but dry and bright to the south. Cloudy and damp in the Low Countries and Germany and well as Poland. Hazy sunshine in Switzerland, but dry and sunny across Austria and Hungary.
Breezy and cloudy in Denmark, rain here. Rain and sleet in the Baltic States where it will be windy too. More cloud and some rain affecting Finland. Becoming drier after morning rain across Sweden and mostly dry in Norway, although heavier showers later.
