Colder for all of Europe, snow in central and northern areas
Wednesday
Cloud and showers affecting the north of Spain. Most of the rest of Spain and Portugal will be dry with sunny spells. A few showers in the Balearics. heavier showers in southern Italy, drier to the north though. A few showers in Greece, with heavy showers in western and southern Turkey.
Cloud, rain and wind in much of northern and western France. rain too and strong winds over the Low Countries and northern Germany. Breezy and bright in Poland. Fair for Austria, Hungary and Switzerland.
Gales and sleet or snow in Norway. These reaching Denmark. The Baltic States will be rather cloudy with some sleet at times. Cloud and some outbreaks of rain in Finland. Staying windy across Sweden with a fair amount of cloud and some sleet later.
Thursday
Some cloud and drizzle for northwest Spain on Thursday, drier and brighter elsewhere, but rather windy. Breezy through the central Mediterranean with a few showers in Italy, the risk of snow in the far north of Italy. Low pressure bringing some rain to Greece and Turkey, some of it heavy in the west.
A much colder day across France with frequent showers, these falling as snow at times. Sunshine and snow showers for the Low Countries and Germany, with further snow showers in Poland. Some snow showers too across Austria, Hungary and Switzerland.
Staying cold in the UK with more snow showers, and these affecting Denmark too. Further snow showers for Sweden, although some more persistent snow in the Baltic States and Finland where it will be windy too. A risk of some heavy snow in Norway.
