Rain developing France & northern Spain

Thursday
Dry for Spain and Portugal with variable cloud and light winds. Thickening cloud in the north-west of Iberia. Scattered heavy showers south of Spain and near the Balearics. High pressure brings plenty of dry and sunny weather for Italy, Switzerland, Austria and the Balkan States. Bright but cool for Greece. Cold for Turkey, with continued outbreaks of snow. Chilly and unsettled for Cyprus. Fairly cloudy across northern France, with rain encroaching onto areas near the English Channel. Brighter toward the south. Dry and fairly mild for the Low Countries, Germany and most of eastern Europe. A little patchy sleet and rain for Finland and the Baltic States. Windy across Scandinavia. Heavy rain and for western Norway and snow for the mountains. Behind a warm front it will be quite mild but cloudy for Sweden and Denmark.

Friday
Rain spreads into northern Spain and Portugal by Friday morning, although staying dry toward the south of Iberia. Scattered thundery showers in the western Mediterranean. Dry and sunny for Italy, Greece and most of south-east Europe under the influence of high pressure. However, it remains cool for Turkey with a little patchy snow near the Black Sea. Windy toward the east of Turkey, also Cyprus. Rain and locally strong winds affect western and northern France whilst the south of France, Switzerland and Austria are likely to be dry. Wet for Belgium and the Netherlands. Cloudy with a little drizzle in Germany, but broadly dry. Mild for Poland and Scandinavia with a south-westerly breeze. Rain and snow in western Norway. A slow moving frontal system brings outbreaks of rain for Sweden and Finland, and a lot of cloud.
