Rain turns heavy for Italy & southern France

High pressure is situated across Scandinavia this weekend, producing a chilly easterly pattern for northern-central countries of Europe. Warm sunshine for south-western Spain and Portugal. Cooler to the north of Spain, with clusters of heavy showers, and some snow in the Pyrenees. Thunderstorms likely for the Balearics. Slow moving showers too for southern France and northern Italy. Some snow in Switzerland. Southern Italy and the Adriatic region will be dry and sunny. Fair weather too for Greece, although rain will affect Turkey. A lot of cloud across northern France, Belgium and the Netherlands, with patchy drizzle, but often dry. Germany and Poland will be dull and cool with drizzly rain. Extensively dry with light winds for Norway and Sweden, although a chilly wind affects Denmark.

A strong high continues to reside over Scandinavia, whilst low pressure develops across southern France. Spain and Portugal will remain dry, with warm sunshine in the south and west. A few showers for the Balearics, whilst heavy rain is expected for southern France and the west and north-west of Italy. Rain and mountain snow for Switzerland. Rain too for Corsica and Sardinia for a few hours. Sicily may escape dry. The Balkan states will be dry overall, with sunshine for Greece. A few outbreaks of rain for Turkey. Northern France and the Low Countries stay dry but cool and dull, with a breeze from the east. Patchy drizzle may again persist across Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland. Dry overall for Austria and Hungary. Light winds and sunshine for Norway and Sweden. Breezy and cool in Denmark.
