Hot for many central and southern areas with thunderstorms in places
Saturday
Thunderstorms spread from the Pyrenees into south-west France in the early hours of Saturday. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely to become extensive across central France during the day. Scattered storms continue for eastern Spain, although most of Spain & Portugal will be dry, sunny and hot.
The remnants of overnight thundery rain will also continue for northern Germany, although easing by Saturday morning. However, storms may again develop across central Europe by afternoon and evening. Temperatures again into the high 30s Celsius for Germany, southern and eastern Europe. Scattered thunderstorms again for southern Italy and Greece. Mainly dry for Scandinavia, although some rain may affect southern Sweden. Showery in north-west Norway. Risk of persistent rain in far north of Sweden and Finland.
Sunday
Cloud and some rain in the east of Spain on Sunday. Elsewhere it will be dry with sunny spells. More sunshine across the Balearics and into Italy. Sunny spells and dry, hot weather in Greece and further sunshine in Turkey too.
Broken cloud and a few showers in eastern France, but generally fair in the west. Generally fair through the Low Countries and much of Germany and northern Poland. Broken cloud across western Poland and central Germany. Plenty of sunshine across Hungary, Austria and Switzerland.
Fair through Denmark with plenty of sunshine here. Dry too in the Baltic States and staying sunny here. More sunshine to come in Sweden, scattered showers for Finland. Cloud and some outbreaks of rain for western Norway, although fair in the east.
