Heavy rain for Italy; windy Scandinavia

High pressure continues to dominate Britain and northern Europe, bringing dry weather to much of the continent. Spain and Portugal will be mainly dry and sunny, with light winds. Warmest temperatures for Andalucia and the Algarve, reaching 30C. One or two showers in the Pyrenees. Low pressure over the western Mediterranean brings wet and windy weather to Corsica, Sardinia and much of Italy, although northern areas are drier. Fair weather for Greece and the Balkans. A few areas of rain for northern Turkey. Breezy for northern France, warm sunshine in south-west France, highs 22C. Early fog in Germany and Poland, then sunny with light winds, temperatures around 17C in afternoon. Breezy across Scandinavia. Persistent rain for northern Norway. Mainly dry Sweden, cloudy in the north. Patchy drizzle in Finland.

High pressure stays across north-west Europe, giving fair weather to Britain and much of central Europe. Temperatures will be generally mild, 17 to 20C central areas, up to 24C western France and Italy, and highs of 30C in south-western Iberia. Dry and warm in Portugal, and much of Spain, although expect a few showers in the north-east. Rain continues fot western Italy and Corsica, often heavy. Dry and sunny for the Balkan region, Greece and Turkey. Dry and mild across France and the Low Countries. Early mist for Germany and Poland. A deep area of low pressure brings strong winds to Scandinavia, and frequent rain to northern regions of Norway and Sweden. Dry with lighter winds in southern Sweden and Denmark.
