Rain spreads into western France
Monday
Low pressure is centred west of Britain, and high pressure over eastern Europe on Monday. Unsettled conditions for Spain and Portugal, particularly western regions of Iberia, with areas of thundery rain. Clusters of thunderstorms also spread into the western Mediterranean. However, Italy, the Balkans and Greece remain dry, but quite cloudy. Breezy for the Greek Islands and Turkey. Feeling mild in a southerly breeze across France, around 20C, but risk of a little rain toward the coasts of Brittany. Some sunshine for Belgium. Cloudy skies toward the northern Germany and Denmark. Dry, but fairly cloudy weather extends across central and eastern Europe, with daytime temperatures 12 to 15C. Dry too for southern Scandinavia, with a little sunshine. Persistent rain affects western Norway. The Baltic region is cool, bright and breezy.
Tuesday
Areas of showers continue across Spain and Portugal, most frequent in north-western Iberia, where it will also be windy. Areas of thundery rain affect the western half of the Mediterranean, spreading into western Italy. High pressure extends across the eastern half of Europe, bringing settled weather to the Balkans, Greece and also north across Hungary, Romania and Poland. Strong easterly winds affect Turkey. A few showers for Cyprus. Low pressure centred west of France brings persistent heavy rain to western areas, and a few showers reaching the western Alps. Mild southerly winds across eastern France, the Low Countries and Germany, where it will be dry with some hazy sunshine. Dry conditions across Scandinavia, although a chilly northerly wind affects Finland and the Baltic states.
