Portugal turns wet by Saturday

Dry and fairly warm across southern Spain and Portugal, with highs around 25C in the Algarve. Cool but dry in northern areas of Iberia. Some rain across eastern Italy, but clearing from the west. Wet weather affects the Balkans, some thundery bursts. Dry for Greece, and very warm in Turkey. Cold conditions continue to affect central Europe. France will be largely cloudy, with spots of rain in the north. Persistent rain affects Belgium and the Netherlands. Temperatures just 5 to 8C for Germany, with outbreaks of rain. Snow showers over the Alps. Feeling warmer in Poland, with highs 15 to 20C in the south, although thunderstorms developing later. High pressure brings dry weather to much of Scandinavia, although rain affects Denmark and southern Sweden. Cold and showery in the north of Norway.

Rain develops from the west across Portugal by the early hours of Saturday, and leads to a wet and windy day across western Iberia. Dry and warm in eastern Spain. Dry and fairly warm across Italy, Greece and Turkey. A few showers over the Swiss Alps. Mainly dry, cloudy and cool for France and the Low Countries. Patchy rain for northern Germany and Denmark. Central Europe remains chilly for October, highs just 7 to 9C in Germany and Austria. Thundery showers in south-eastern Poland and Slovakia. Around 12C in southern Sweden, although fairly cloudy, with some drizzly rain. Mainly dry elsewhere across Scandinavia. Northern Norway will be breezy and showery.
