Warm sunshine southern Spain
Friday
High pressure west of Iberia brings a dry and bright day to Spain and Portugal, and it will be very warm in the south, highs topping 25C for some. Fair weather extends across the Mediterranean, although western areas will be breezy. Sunshine for Greece and Turkey, highs 22C. Low pressure and slow moving fronts over central Europe bring persistent heavy rain to northern France, Belgium and southern Germany. This extends to the Alps, falling increasingly as snow in Switzerland and western Austria. Southern France remains mainly dry but windy. The Netherlands and Denmark will see a few showers, also extending into Poland. Scandinavia will be cold, although a good deal of dry weather, mixed with slow moving snow showers. Temperatures in Norway and northern Sweden will struggle to climb above freezing.
Saturday
Rain spreads from the north into Spain, including snow over the mountains, particularly the Pyrenees. Much colder air reaches the north of Iberia, although the south of Spain and Portugal stay around 20C. Heavy and thundery rain moves into the western Mediterranean, also Italy, accompanied by strong and gusty winds. Blustery too for Greece, although largely dry. Some warm sunshine in Turkey. Heavy rain and mountain snow affects the Balkan states. Chilly northerly winds and frequent showers affect France and the Low Countries. Further snow too in the Alps. Germany will also be cool at 6C, with occasional showers, some wintry. Cloudy and outbreaks of rain for Poland. Some sunshine for Scandinavia, but it remains cold, and there will be areas of snow showers in the north.
