Frequent rain or showers for northern Europe
Friday
High pressure across southern Europe brings continued settled weather, whilst low pressure north of Britain produces gales and unsettled weather for northern Europe. A cold front brings a few heavy showers to north & western France, the Low Countries and north-west Germany. Southern regions of France, Germany and the Alps remain dry and fairly mild. Warm sunshine across Spain and Portugal, and temperatures up to 25C in the Algarve and Andalucia. Sunshine for Italy and Greece, and highs around 20C. Dry conditions too across eastern Europe. Fronts bring heavy falls of rain to Scandinavia, and winds gusting gale force for Denmark and Norway. Fairly mild in Sweden. Largely dry until late in the day for Finland.
Saturday
Staying sunny for much of southern Europe. Very warm again in south-western Spain and Portugal. High pressure centred across France brings a fair day, but it will be windy toward the south, and also across the Alps. Warm and dry for Italy, Greece and Turkey. Blustery winds for the Netherlands and Denmark, with frequent showers moving in from the North Sea. Cooler across northern Europe, highs 7 to 10C for Germany and Poland. Partly cloudy with a little rain for Hungary and Romania. Staying unsettled for Scandinavia. Frequent rain and strong winds for western Norway, but Sweden may remain dry for several hours.
