Gales in the north with rain, beter to the south
Tuesday
A cold day to come across Scandinavia with a few wintry showers for western parts of Norway, otherwise a dry day with sunny spells.
Quite a wet day is expected across northern Europe with a large area of rain to extends from Britain eastward across northern France, The Low Countries, Denmark into Germany, Poland, The Baltic States and Belarus. Fine and mostly sunny across Spain, Portugal, southern parts of France and across Italy, The Adriatic Region and the Balkan States into Turkey.
Rain spreads into the Ukraine late in the day. Cold and wintry across Russia with outbreaks of snow. Strong south westerly gales will prevail across Britain, the channel, northern France into the Low Countries and the North Sea.
Wednesday
Fair for much of Spain and Portugal on Wednesday, although there will be rain and cloud in the far north of Spain. Fine for the Balearics and into Italy too. More sunshine to come in Greece and Turkey.
Showery bursts of rain and some cloud in southern France, but for most of the country it should be dry and bright with broken cloud. Rain in the Low Countries and much of Germany, but windy with showers for Poland. Austria and Hungary wil have variable cloud and a few showers, with Switzerland generally drier and brighter.
Wet and windy through the UK, with showers and gales affecting Denmark. Low pressure brings cloud and rain into the Baltic States as well as Finland. Sunshine and scattered showers for Sweden, with heavy showers affecting western Sweden.
