Gales and rain in central Europe
Thursday
Settled weather continues across southern Europe, with a good amount of warm sunshine for Spain and Portugal. Dry across the Mediterranean islands, also Italy, Greece, the Balkan region and Turkey. Temperatures around 17 to 20C. Patchy rain affects France, becoming persistent and heavy for Belgium and the Netherlands, spreading later into north-west Germany. Windy across northern-central Europe, temperatures around 11C in Germany. Squally showers for Poland and Denmark. A few showers for the Alps and Hungary, although largely dry here. Cool for Scandinavia, although temperatures near average at 3 to 5C. Showers for many coastal regions, but drier inland.

Staying fair through Spain and Portugal on Friday. There will be more sunshine in the Balearics, and through Greece and Turkey too.
Gales and rain in central and northern France, but dry to the south. More rain, some of it heavy in the Low Countries and central Germany, severe gales here. Fair for the north of Germany and Poland, sunny spells. Heavy showers in Switzerland and Austria as well as Hungary.
Showers and cloud in Denmark, with heavy showers and sunny spells across the Baltic States. A mix of sunshine and showers in Sweden, with showers too across Sweden.
