Becoming cold, wet in the central Mediterranean
Tuesday
Gales and heavy rain affects southern England, the channel into northern parts of France, Belgium, Holland, Denmark and Sweden. Snow showers are expected across western Norway. Fine and dry across Portugal, Spain and southern France with sunny spells.
Plenty of heavy showers are forecast across the Balearics, Corsica and Sardinia. Heavy rain is expected across Italy with rain and snow across the Adriatic Region but dry across Croatia. Heavy showers to come near western parts of Greece but mainly dry with sunny spells across much of Greece and Turkey.
Some light rain across Romania with rain and snow into the Ukraine. Dry with sunny spells across Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. Rather cloudy but dry across Finland, the Baltic States and Russia. Very windy in the central Mediterranean.
Wednesday
Cold and showery over northern Spain today, but drier and brighter to the south. There will be some cloud and showers in the Balearics too. More persistent rain and strong winds for southern Italy, with showery bursts of rain in western Greece. Turkey should be dry with sunny spells.
Cold and and rather cloudy in much of France. Showers or longer spells of rain here. Similar for the Low Countries where it will be feeling very cold in the northwest wind. Further cloud and rain in Germany, but drier to the east and through Poland. Probably mostly dry for Austria and Hungary although snow arrives in Switzerland later.
Cloud and showery bursts of rain in Denmark. Sunny spells and dry in the baltic States and Finland where it will be mild too. Some showery rain in Sweden, with colder weather and snow showers in Norway.
