The time of year has arrived once again, where the air becomes filled with the sights and sounds of fireworks screaming and exploding their way around the night sky. Whether you'll be holding your own garden firework display, or attending an organized bonfire and light show, the all important weather will dictate just how much fun you'll have!
For much of England and Wales, bonfire night is looking like a classic weather-wise. North-westerly winds will be fairly light, so rockets shouldn't go astray and matches shouldn't blow out! It'll also be mostly dry across England and Wales, and especially across central and southern areas with clear skies, it'll turn quite chilly. Patchy mist and fog is likely to form, and coupled with all the bonfire smoke it will become rather murky as the evening draws on.
Ireland will also share the settled evening weather, but it will become increasingly chilly after nightfall. Across Northern Ireland, northern parts of England and much of Scotland, the north-westerly wind will be strong, and will make it feel rather cold out and about. Although starting dry, expect some showery rain moving into western Scotland and the far north of Northern Ireland by mid-evening though, perhaps putting a dampener on bonfire festivities.
Whatever the weather, have a fun bonfire night, and above all, stay safe!
