Rain for England, Wales Colder, drier Saturday seiten=5 abk=focus

Friday
For Scotland any early rain clears the south then expect good sunny spells and dry to the east and occasional showers, some heavy in the west. A fine, mostly sunny day across Northern Ireland. England and Wales stays breezy and wet for much of the day, the rain heaviest in the north and across Wales. Maximums of 5 to 8C in the north but up to 13C for southern England.

Friday night
Continued wet with further spells of moderate to rain across England and Wales this evening. During the night it does turn dry across northern England and then Wales and by morning it's raining just across the south east. More showers are forecast for western Scotland, dry and cold elsewhere with clear skies and a frost likely. Lows at with lows of -1 to 4C but 8C in the south.

Saturday
A colder day for the UK today. Apart from scattered showers around the western coasts of Scotland and England and snow showers for northern Scotland, it looks fine and dry this morning with lots of sunshine through central and eastern areas after any residual rain soon clears the south east. Continued fair and dry for England and Wales with some sunshine through the afternoon. Highs at 4 to 7C north, 7 to 9C south.

Sunday
Just the odd shower for northern Scotland today. After a dry morning, some rain moves into Northern Ireland for the afternoon. A settled, dry day for England and Wales with lots of sunshine to be found. Rain across Northern Ireland spreads into western England and Wales overnight. Highs at 3 to 5C north, 5 to 8C in south.

Monday
Morning rain across all but eastern England and Scotland will clear away. Then for the bulk of the United Kingdom it's largely dry with some sunshine and some cloud. Fine and dry in the evening and night with a widespread frost developing inland. Highs at 4 to 9C.
