Dull and misty across central and southern parts of England this morning with some dense fog. To the north it's fine and dry but cold, frosty and sunny. A few dense fog patches also likely here. By the afternoon it looks dry and bright across the United Kingdom with good sunny spells for most areas. Expect maximums of 5 to 9C north to south.
Tuesday night
A clear evening across the country with some mist and fog redeveloping. Continued dry, clear and cold overnight with a widespread frost and dense fog. Lows at lows of 0 to -2C with 4 to 6C in the south west.
Wednesday
High pressure will keep it settled and dry across the whole of the country. Again fog and frost will be slow to clear this morning otherwise sunny. Continued sunny in the afternoon with isolated patches of dense fog through central and northern parts of England. Mostly clear tonight with more fog and frost. Highs of 4 to 8C but colder where fog lingers.
Thursday
It turns windier with rain for north west Scotland today. For the remainder of the United Kingdom it looks dry with sunny skies after slow clearance of dense fog and frost. Again parts of The Midlands and north east England may well stay foggy through the afternoon. Some rain for Scotland tonight, foggy and frosty for England and Wales. Highs of 5 to 9C but near freezing where fog sticks.
Friday
Breezy with more rain and drizzle to com across the north west of Scotland through the day. Little change for the rest of Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Expect a dry day with morning dense fog and frost clearing to sunny spells in most areas. Fog and frost returns in the evening and night. Highs of 5 to 9C but near freezing where fog sticks.
