Christmas Eve
Generally a dull morning across much of central and southern England, as well as Wales; misty here too with a risk of some drizzle. Fog across northern England and southern Scotland as well as Northern Ireland, this only slowly clearing, if at all. The best of any sunshine over the north and west of Scotland where it should be dry with some good spells of sunshine. The afternoon see the chance of some sunny skies moving through East Anglia and southeast England, whilst much of the west of England, Wales and Ireland have low cloud and drizzle. Over northern England and Scotland there could still be a few fog patches, but on the whole these clearing allowing some sunny spells to come through. Highs at 3 to 8C.
Christmas Eve Night
Low cloud and mist across much of England, Wales and southern Ireland. There could be some drizzle with a few fog patches, although the fog not as extensive as over the past few nights. Tonight's fog problem are likely over northern England, southern Scotland and Northern Ireland. Here it will be dense and freezing in places. Western Scotland seeing thicker cloud with a chance of drizzle here. Icy patches on roads with lows at 0 to 3C.
Christmas Day
It looks set to be a chilly start to the day with a widespread frost. There may be some dense, morning fog patches, these slow to clear some places through the day. However, if they do go a few sunny spells should come through. Thicker cloud affecting Irish Sea coasts of Wales and Ireland with a chance of drizzle here. Eastern Scotland should have good spells of sunshine, whilst western Scotland has more cloud, but should stay dry. Nowhere looks like having a true White Christmas. Temperatures at 3 to 8C.
Boxing Day
Little change in the weather for Boxing Day. There will be some low cloud and drizzle affecting many western parts of Wales, the east of Ireland and western Scotland. Elsewhere, morning mist and fog patches, some of them dense, will be slowly clearing to leave a few bright or sunny spells. Cool at 3 to 6C for most.
