Fog continuing to lift Bright spells for some seiten=4 abk=focus
Christmas Day
Quite a dull day seems likely for many parts of the UK and Ireland. There will be plenty of cloud around in the morning, with a ahcne of some icy patches leading to some dangerous dricing conditions. There may be mist and fog patches too, some of these slow to clear. For Ireland and western Scotland thicker cloud could produce some drizzle, but for most it should be dry. Into the afternoon very little changes with a fair amount of cloud for most areas, and a risk of further drizzle to the west. Another cold day under the cloud at just 3 or 4C, but perhaps to 7C in the far southwest.
Christmas Night
Fog could become a problem through much of England, Wales and Scotland tonight. Temperatures will be falling below freezing, with a widespread frost for all. The fog may become dense and freezing in places. Across Ireland and western Scotland thicker cloud is likely again. This will be producing some drizzle here and there and it could be misty too. Lows near -2C in the Midlands but 3C in northern Ireland.
Boxing Day
Morning fog could be reluctant to clear from England, Wales and Scotland, but once it has there is more of a chance of some brighter spells coming through. Ireland is likely to be staying cloudy, with some rain in the far west later. There could be soe drizzle too for the west of Scotland, but elsewhere through Scotland the day should be bright and dry. Highs at a chilly 3 to 4C for most, but 7C in southwest England and Ireland.
Wednesday
A hint of some showery rain passing through the UK and Ireland on Wednesday, possibly leading to a wet day for some. The rain could be heavy in places, although it isn't clear at the moment where the dampest places would be. Drier weather over Ireland and western Scotland.
