Tuesday
A windy day and we'll see the persistent rain clearing Scotland this morning with showers then across western Scotland and dry, sunnier weather in the sheltered east. Rain also clears Northern Ireland then fine and mostly sunny. A rather wet, windy day across England and Wales with spells of rain, this heavy across northern England and Wales, lighter to the south. By the end of the afternoon rain clears northern England with a few showers around Irish Sea coasts. Again windy with gusts to gale force. Mild with highs of 8 to 13C but 6C for northern Scotland.
Tuesday Night
Wet and windy with spells of locally heavy rain from the Midlands southward across southern England. Rain too across Wales. Just a few showers for western Scotland so dry across the rest of the country this evening. Overnight it stays windy and mild with rain spreading back north into all of England. Further showers will affect western Scotland. Cold in the north with lows at 0 to 2C, milder with 8 to 12C in the south.
Wednesday
It will be turning colder from the north during the day as outbreaks of rain across England and Wales clear from all but East Anglia and the far south east of England this morning. Here it turns dry by mid afternoon. Elsewhere a few showers are expected across Scotland, where they turn wintry, and around Irish Sea coasts. Sunnier and dry for most remaining areas this afternoon. Gales and heavy rain sweep back into all but East Anglia and south east England overnight. Highs of 3 to 8C but 11C across southern parts of England.
Thursday
Very windy with outbreaks of rain for all parts but the rain clears to showers across Scotland. These turning more to snow through the day. During the afternoon the rain across England and Wales tends to clear away as it brightens up. Winds will be in excess of gale force. Windy with snow showers this evening in northern Scotland, dry elsewhere. Rain spills into Northern Ireland in the night. Highs of 6 to 8C but 10 to 11C in the south.
