Gales, rain then showers Staying wet and windy but mild seiten=4 abk=focus

Thursday
A very windy, blustery day across the United Kingdom with gale to severe gales. Rain across England and Wales will clear from all but the far south of England this morning. Here it turns dry and sunnier early in the afternoon. Widespread gusts of 50-60 mph are likely with higher gusts over the hills and around the coasts. Elsewhere expect a mix of cloud, sunny spells and showers, many heavy with a risk of thunder or hail. A few will be wintry over northern Scotland. Mild with highs of 5 to 10C but 12C for southern England.

Overnight
Still windy this evening and tonight with light rain across south west England and showers in the north and west. Overnight the rain in the south west moves into all but eastern parts of England and Scotland. Cold in the north with lows at 1 to 4C, milder with 5 to 9C in the south.

Friday
Wet, windy and milder again across the United Kingdom with outbreaks of rain and drizzle for all parts of Britain. The rain becomes very light and patchy across England and Wales in the afternoon. Foggy around the coasts and over the hills. Windy into the evening and night with sporadic outbreaks of drizzly rain across much of the country. Continued mild with highs of 10 to 13C.

Saturday
Perhaps a dry, albeit cloudy morning for East Anglia and the south east of England. Dull and misty elsewhere with rain and drizzle. Most places will see some rain and drizzle in the afternoon with the heavier rain across Scotland and Northern Ireland. The rain clears Scotland and Northern Ireland in the evening then from England and Wales overnight as skies turn clear. This will lead to a frost in most places. Highs of 8 to 12C.
