Overcast, wet and breezy across much of England and Wales this afternoon with outbreaks of moderate to heavy rain. The rain will be clear all but the far south of England by the end of the morning and here it lingers for much of the afternoon. A few showers may develop across northern England in the afternoon. A cold day across Scotland with heavy snow showers which may give a moderate accumulation over northern Scotland. Some ain is expected across Northern Ireland. Highs of 0 to 4C in the north, 8 to 12C in the south.
Wednesday Night
Further snow showers will affect northern Scotland in the evening as rain spreads into Northern Ireland, Wales and western parts of England. Severe gales along with heavy, driving rain spreads into all areas in the night. Lows of 2 to 4C for northern Scotland and Northern Ireland, 5 to 9C across England and Wales.
Thursday
Very windy and wet this morning with all areas having spells of locally heavy rain. The winds will be at gale to severe gale force with gusts possible to 60 or 70 mph across England and Wales. The rain clears Scotland and Northern Ireland to sunshine and showers but staying wet elsewhere in the afternoon as the winds begin to moderate. Less windy with rain clearing then dry except for showers in the north west of Scotland. Highs of 5 to 8C in the north up to a very mild 10 to 15C in the south.

Breezy today. A fair, bright morning across eastern parts of Scotland and England. Expect showers in the west, some heavy across western Scotland. Very mild and breezy with rain for all areas and this will be heaviest across northern England, southern Scotland and Wales with snow over The Highlands. A wet evening and night to come across the United Kingdom. Highs of 8 to 14C in the south.
