The rain heaviest across southern Scotland, northwest England and Wales. Becoming windy as well but no severely so. Very, very mild in the south. Highs of 2 to 3C in the north of Scotland, otherwise 10 to 14c.

A windy evening and night to come with rain expected in all parts of the country. As the rain clears Scotland tonight, it turns much colder with a risk of heavy snow showers. Lows of -1 to 4C for Scotland but a milder 8 to 10C for England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Continued windy today. Expect heavy snow showers across Scotland with a few perhaps across northern England later. Rain showers will affect western parts of Wales and south west England. For the rest of the UK it's mainly dry and bright with sunnier spells. Bitterly cold across northern Scotland tonight with a few snow showers. Scattered showers are likely around western and eastern coasts with inland areas dry with clear spells. Staying quite windy. Highs of 0 to 9C north to south.
