Becoming milder Snow in Scotland seiten=4 abk=focus
Saturday
A largely cloudy morning for most of the UK and Ireland. A complex weather situation. Firstly, there will be rain through eastern Ireland, Wales, much of northern England, the Midlands, East Anglia and southern England, apart from the southwest. The rain could be heavy through southern Wales and southern England leading to localised flooding here, and as this moves northwards through the morning and lying snow starts to thaw in the Midlands, there could be further local flooding here. Note that there is a risk of snow for a time in Wales, and of further snow in the Midlands. Northeast England will be wet, with little change through the morning, although the western Pennines should be drier. Snow could affect northern England too, with some significant accumulations, although confidence is low at present. During the morning a new band of rain passes into southern Ireland and southwest England this moving eastwards. For the afternoon the rain moves into southern Wales and southwest England, crossing all parts of southern England in the afternoon. To the north a fragmented area of rain will be affecting Northern Ireland, northern England and southern Scotland, this falling as snow over the Pennines and southern Uplands as well as some lower lying parts of southern Scotland and northern England. Where it's not raining it will be fairly murky with mist. Temperatures rising from the south during the day, highs at 11C along the south coast, just 1 to 3C through much of the central and northern UK.
Saturday night
Low pressure moving into Ireland through the course of Saturday night. Rain will be pushing eastwards, becoming heavy at times, with the winds increasing too. This is causing problems, because as the rain moves into Wales, the Midlands and northern England it could turn to snow with a risk of several centimetres falling in places. Rain reaching northern Ireland and southern Scotland too, and again here it could fall as snow. Windy over Scotland, snow and sleet in the east, but drier to the west. Showers follow the rain and sleet into Ireland, Wales and southwest England with a risk of gales into the southwest. Lows at 7C along southern coasts, nearer 1 to 2C over Scotland and northern England.
Sunday
It does look as if milder air is going to be moving into most of the country through the course of the day. Snow for Scotland, heavy at times. Drier weather in the south, although heavy showers through Wales, Ireland, southern and southwest England. Breezy in the south too. Temperatures at 12C in southwest England, 5C in northern England, 3C in central Scotland.
Monday
An area of low pressure passing through the Channel on Monday. East to northeast winds across much of England and Wales bringing the threat of snow across much of England and Wales, some of it heavy. Drier through Scotland, Ireland and northern England. This is a situation to watch carefully with temperatures rising to 1 to 4C through most of northern England and Scotland, 12C in southwest England.
