Tuesday
A mainly fine morning through England and Wales, although there will be some fog patches early on. These should clear away fairly quickly. There will be more cloud around the northern Pennines and western parts of Scotland with some outbreaks of drizzle early on over the hills. This cloud should break and any drizzle fade away with all places then dry and fair. Thciker cloud through western Ireland bringing rain by midday. Into the afternoon the rain will be spreading through the whole of Ireland, reaching Wales and southwest England and western Scotland by sunset. For the rest of Scotland, England and Wales the afternoon should stay dry with further spells of sunshine. Temperatures at 7 to 9C typically, although mucb milder in southern Ireland and southwest England at 11C.

Tuesday night
The winds increasing this evening with gusts to gale force in the southwest of England and Wales before midnight. The stronger winds spread east overnight to be through most of England by morning, gusting to 60mph in places. Heavy rain spreads into Ireland, Wales, Scotland and western parts of England by midnight. After midnight the whole of the UK and Ireland will be experiencing wet conditions. Heavy spells of rain at times with the heaviest across Wales, western England and eastern Ireland; a risk of local flooding by the morning. A threat of the rain turning to snow on hills. Many parts of England and Wales could see as much as 20mm of rain. Lows near 3 to 6C.

Wednesday
The heaviest of the rain transfers into northern England and Scotland through Wednesday morning with snow across the Pennines and Scotland. Further rain to the south, although this slowly easing through the day. It is going to be very windy again, especially as the rain pushes northwards with gales for many areas. Becoming drier across Ireland and gradually drying up across Wales and western and southern England too through the afternoon with sunny spells coming through and the winds slowly easing. Temperatures turning cooler from the west through the day, with highs at 7C, nearer 12C in the southeast.

Thursday
Low pressure to the west of Scotland through Friday, with a broad south to southwesterly flow affecting the British Isles and Ireland. It is going to be a very mild day, with plenty of cloud. Drizzle or light rain over much of the Midlands and eastern England. Mist and fog on southern and western coasts, with more persistent rain affecting the west of the British Isles and Ireland. The rain could be heavy at times and it will be windy in the west too, with near-gale force winds at times here. Temperatures at 9C in Scotland, 14C in parts of southern England.
