Wednesday
A wet start to the day for many southern and eastern parts of the UK. The morning rush hour may be dogged by heavy periods of rain, although these will be clearing to the east. A threat of strong winds in the southeast too. Eastern Scotland could have some snow over high ground first thing. Only East Anglia and Kent may see the rain until early afternoon, but it should clear here too. Drier, brighter, but cooler conditions will be spreading through Ireland, western Scotland and Wales, as well as western England in the morning. The afternoon then looks set to become mainly dry for most of the country. There will be some good spells of sunshine. Cloud will be increasing over western Scotland and western Ireland with the winds picking up too, and a threat of rain returning to western Scotland by evening. Temperatures at t to 8C for most, nearer 11C in the far southwest.
Wednesday night
Becoming breezy in the west and north tonight. There will be some light rain and drizzle for the west of Ireland and western parts of Scotland. A threat of low cloud and some fog patches in the far southwest of England, southern Ireland and Wales. Elsewhere the night should be dry with variable amounts of cloud. A frost is likely over much of England and eastern Scotland with lows at 0C, nearer 5C on western coasts.
Thursday
A chilly start to the day over much of England, Wales and eastern Scotland. However, once the sun clears the frost the day is going to be a breezy, but very mild one. There will be plenty of sunny spells around, with the best of these in eastern parts of England. Across Ireland and the western half of Scotland the day will be wet and windy with some heavy bursts of rain. Highs near 14C in southern England, 8C in western Scotland.
Friday
A band of rain lying through western England, Wales, eastern Ireland, northern England and southern Scotland could produce some heavy bursts of rain at times. Over more southern and eastern parts of England the day should be dry with variable cloud and some good spells of sunshine in the far southeast. Sunny spells coming through too over western Scotland and western Ireland. Highs at 6 to 10C.
