Thursday
A wet morning across western parts of Britain with gales and gusts to 60 mph in the north west. An area of rain will be across Northern Ireland and northern Scotland. Cold at first across England and Wales with patchy frost in central and eastern parts, otherwise a dry morning with sunny spells but clouding over in the west. In the afternoon it stays windy with rain for Northern Ireland, Scotland and the far west of England and Wales. Dry, albeit cloudy in the east. Another mild day with high temperatures of 8 to 11C.
Tonight
Still rather windy this evening as the rain spreads into northern England, Wales and south west England. Continued dry across East Anglia and the south east of England during the night as the rain moves into the Midlands but clears Northern Ireland.
Friday
A band of rain is expected to lie from north east England into the Midlands, Wales and south west England this morning. Here the rain tends to linger through the afternoon. Fair and mainly dry to the west and east of this area though a few showers may affect western Scotland. Overnight rain is forecast for all but East Anglia, south east England and northern Scotland, some of it heavy with fog over the hills. Highs of 5 to 10C.
Saturday
Dry for Northern Ireland this morning but rain is likely in all other areas, some of it heavy. Outbreaks of rain will persist across all but Northern Ireland through the afternoon. The rain clears south west England, Wales and western Scotland in the evening then from the rest of England and Scotland in the night. A colder day in the north with tops of 3 to 6C but 10C in the south.
