This afternoon
A lot of cloud across the south of England but this should thin giving more sunshine this afternoon though a few spots of drizzle may affect the south west of England. For the bulk of the United Kingdom it's going to be a fine, spring like afternoon with sunny spells and patches of cloud. Unseasonably mild with top temperatures of 8 to 12C.
Overnight
Later this evening some light rain will spread into Northern Ireland and north west Scotland. Some drizzle too for south west England but dry elsewhere this evening. Expect a good deal of cloud across the country overnight with outbreaks of rain for Northern Ireland and northern Scotland and patchy drizzle for England and Wales. Breezy in the west with lows at 5 to 8C.
Monday
Overcast and misty this morning with an area of persistent rain across northern Scotland and Northern Ireland. Elsewhere expect some patchy drizzly rain in places. Very windy with gales in the west. In the afternoon the rain band is expected to linger across northern Scotland, Northern Ireland and may edge into the far west of Wales and parts of Cornwall with some drizzle over the Pennines. Dry, albeit cloudy across the rest of the country. In the evening the rain becomes heavier moving into Wales, south west England and Cumbria with light rain into central England. Rather windy, wet and cloudy tonight but it looks dry across East Anglia, the south east of England and perhaps the East Midlands. Highs at 7 to 12C.
Tuesday
Continued mild today with East Anglia, the south east of England and eastern parts of the Midlands expecting a mainly dry day with some sunshine developing in the south east in the afternoon. Further spells of rain are likely for the rest of the United Kingdom but in the afternoon it should brighten up with a few showers for Wales and south west England. Overnight the rain becomes confined to the north of Scotland and we could see some patchy frost in the west. Highs at 9 to 14C.
