Wednesday
A wet morning across much of Scotland, northern and eastern parts of England. The rain will tend to be light, but a few more persistent bursts are likely to be affecting northeast England and parts of East Anglia as well as the Grampians. The rain should slowly push into the North Sea with most parts dry by lunchtime. Elsewhere for England, Wales, northern Scotland and Northern Ireland the morning will be rather cloudy, albeit mainly dry, with a few bright spells. Winds picking up over southern Ireland with rain here by lunchtime.
In the afternoon rain and stronger winds will be pushing eastwards to be into most of Ireland, Wales and southwest England by the evening, some of it heavy. For much of England and north Wales the afternoon will be dry with brief brighter spells, but also increasing cloud from the rain in the west. Scotland is likely to be staying rather cloudy with some spots of rain on the hills. Temperatures at a chilly 7C in the north, nearer 12C in southwest England.
Wednesday night
Becoming wet and breezy for most of the UK and Ireland during tonight. By midnight the rain will be lying west of a line from Glasgow to Southampton. It may become heavy at times through Wales, southwest England and Northern Ireland. By the early hours of the morning the rain covers pretty much the whole of the UK and is likely to be heaviest across Wales, northern England and Scotland. Ireland stays cloudy and wet too. All areas are likely to be misty, with hill fog and lows of 4 to 8C.
Thursday
The day starts wet for most of Scotland, Wales and England, with some heavy bursts of rain for all. It will be breezy too with hill and coastal fog. Brighter, drier weather should edge into Ireland, although there will be showers in the west. The afternoon sees more rain for England, Wales and Scotland and again this could be heavy. The brighter, drier weather should reach western Wales, although by then showers will be affecting Ireland. Temperatures at a mild 8 to 14C.
Friday
An unsettled day with low pressure just off western Ireland. There will be heavy showers through most of Ireland, England and Wales, with a risk of some thunderstorms. For northern England and Scotland the showers should be more scattered, perhaps with a few bright or sunny spells here. Temperatures again very mild at 8 to 12C.
