A wet day for most Drier to the west seiten=4 abk=focus

Thursday
A breezy and wet morning to come over most of England, Wales and Scotland. There will be some moderate or heavy bursts of rain around, mostly through northern England and the Midlands, running into Scotland. Driving conditions may be awkward during the morning rush hour due to the surface water on roads. Further west if should be drier through Ireland, except for showers in the west and south. It should also become drier in western Wales and southwest England as the morning progresses.
This afternoon sees the rain edge slowly northwest. Most of northern and eastern Scotland will be staying wet, as will be the east of England, where again there could be some heavy bursts of rain on the hills. It will become very slowly drier in the Midlands, northwest England and central southern England. A few showers for Wales and southwest England together with western Scotland. Sunshine and showers for Ireland, and windy here too. rather breezy everywhere, but mild at 8 to 12C.

Thursday night
The rain should clear from eastern and northern areas this evening. A drier interlude of weather is then expected over much of England, Wales and Ireland. However, by midnight more rain will be returning to southwestern coasts of England.
Through the early hours this rain progresses northwards to be through most of Wales, southwest England, the southern Midlands and southern England by dawn. For northern England it should be drier, with Scotland being drier too. Lows at 4C in Scotland, 8C in southwest England.

Friday
Another unsettled day to come for all on Friday. Low pressure to the west of Ireland will be pushing bands of showers and rain eastwards through the country. Eastern areas may start off drier, although rather cloud. However, to the west there will be heavy showers, and as the morning progresses these will become heavier through Wales and Ireland. In the afternoon the heaviest of the showers will be through western Scotland, Wales, western England and Ireland where some could be thundery. Breezy at 8 to 11C.

Saturday
Drier in the east of Saturday morning. However, more rain and showers will be sweeping into the west as the day progresses. The showers merging into longer periods of rain, the heaviest of these through Ireland, Wales and southern England. Scotland is likely to remain with showers throughout some of these turning wintry on the hills. Highs at 6 to 12C.
