Morning rain clears east Brighter from the west seiten=4 abk=focus
Saturday
Quite a cloudy and damp start to the morning through eastern Scotland, eastern and central parts of England as a weakening front pushes slowly east. This will be producing outbreaks of rain, most of it light although a few heavier bursts cannot be ruled out.
For Ireland, western Scotland, Wales and western England it is going to be a brighter start to the day, although a few showers could affect western coasts.
By early afternoon the rain will be clearing eastern coasts and then all parts of the country should be drier with some sunny spells, although there will always be a fair amount of cloud around. Once again a few showers cannot be ruled out on far western coasts, but inland the day is going to be dry with spells of sunshine. Temperatures rising to highs of 7C in southern Scotland, nearer 12C in southern England.
Saturday night
Any showers on western coasts should be fading away through the course of Saturday evening. There will then be fine conditions through the first part of the night. Clear skies and light winds will be allowing a slight frost to form in many areas.
After midnight cloud will be starting increase from the south and west with the winds picking up over Ireland, Wales and southwest England. Temperatures will rise in the west too as the cloud and wind arrive. It should stay dry for most until morning though, only the far south of Ireland and the Scilly Isles seeing some light rain by dawn. Lows around -2C in northern and central England, 4C in Cornwall before temperatures rise later.
Sunday
A wet and windy morning through Ireland, Wales and southwest England. Rain is going to become heavy at times, with the winds gusting to gale force. For the rest of the country it will be dry, with some sunshine to come across Scotland and northeast England.
The afternoon sees the rain spreading through most other areas, and again this is going to be heavy. Windy everywhere with the strongest of the winds through Ireland, western Wales, western England and the west of Scotland. Only the far northeast of Scotland, Shetland and Orkney my escape with the day dry until evening.
Turning more showing through southern Ireland, Wales and southwest England in the afternoon with a few bright spells coming through, but also heavy showers. Highs at a very mild 14C in SW England, 7C over central Scotland.
Monday
Low pressure close to northwest Scotland through the day. A southwest flow brings plenty of cloud to all parts. A windy day too with gales across Ireland and Scotland. Cloud and rain through western and northern Ireland, some of it heavy. More showery rain to the south, with heavier showers over Wales and western England, sweeping eastwards. Later in the day cloud and more persistent rain will be returning to western Ireland.
