Few showers, mainly dry More showers to north and west seiten=4 abk=focus

Wednesday
Overall it should be a fair start to the day for many areas. There will be some good spells of sunshine to come through most areas, with the Midlands and parts of Wales most favoured. There is a risk of some residual showers through eastern parts of England at first, but these should clear and it will become brighter here too as the morning progresses. The far southwest of England may see more in the way of cloud, whilst western and northern Scotland, together with western Ireland have a few showers. Little change for most in the afternoon, just an odd shower here and there through southern England, but fry for most. More persistent rain could trouble western Ireland, with showers still for the north and west of Scotland. Highs at a mild 14C in the far south, nearer 7C in Scotland.

Wednesday night
A ridge of high pressure building through on Wednesday night. This should bring light winds and generally clear skies to much of England and Wales. There is always a threat of a few showers in the far west of Ireland, but eastern areas should be dry. More showers to come in the north and west of Scotland and again some may be heavy, perhaps merging to longer periods of rain. A touch of frost under the clearer skies with lows of 1 or 2C, nearer 4C in the cloudier west.

Thursday
The ridge persists through Thursday. There will be plenty of sunshine to come across England, Wales and eastern Scotland in the morning, but this turning hazy in the afternoon as high cloud increases. Stronger winds and rain will be troubling Ireland and Scotland, with the rain turning heavy in western Ireland and western Scotland later in the day. A very mild day, highs near 14C in southern England, but 8C in Scotland.

Friday
A wet day seems likely over southern and eastern coasts of England. The rain could be heavy at times and lasting into the early afternoon. It should clear towards evening though. Heavy showers too in northeast England, with western coasts of Scotland, England and Ireland also catching the showers. Once again these could be heavy and you will be luck to see sunshine anywhere on Friday. Tops at a cooler 7 to 12C.
