Friday
Scattered showers are forecast across western parts of England, Scotland and Wales with some light rain for Northern Ireland this morning. The afternoon sees and area of rain moving out of Northern Ireland into Scotland and northern parts of England with a risk of snow over the Highlands. It remains fine, dry and mostly sunny across southern England. Highs around 8 to 12C for most.

This evening the rain retreats away from northern parts of England with a damp night to come for Northern Ireland and Scotland. For the rest of England and Wales it's a fair, dry evening ahead of a dry, mostly clear night with patchy frost. Lows at 3 to 7C.

With a brisk south west wind blowing, expect a mild day across England and Wales and generally fine and dry here with sunny spells though northern Wales and Cumbria may see some patchy afternoon drizzle. The area of more persistent rain will linger across Scotland and Northern Ireland today. Drizzly rain will affect the northern half of Britain this evening and into the night. A lot of cloud further south but it looks dry. Mild with highs near 10 to 15C.
