Rain dying out in south Settled, mainly dry Tuesday seiten=4 abk=focus

Monday
This morning a band of rain will lie from northern England into Wales and the south west of England. This is forecast to turn very light and patchy but a few moderate bursts may affect Wales and south west England. A number of showers will affect western parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland during the day though some sunshine as well. For the rest of the United kingdom it's a dry day with the best of the sunshine across eastern Scotland, East Anglia and the south east. By the end of the afternoon the rain should have pretty much died out. Quite windy again today with high temperatures at 6 to 10C for Scotland and Northern Ireland, 12 to 16C for England and Wales.

Overnight
In the evening further showers will affect north west Scotland then overnight it becomes breezy with more persistent rain moving into Northern Ireland and northern Scotland. Any residual cloud this evening in the south west and across Wales should melt away leaving the rest of the country fine, dry and clear. Some patchy frost and fog is likely in rural areas. Lows at 1 to 4C inland, 8C around coasts.

Tuesday
Cloudy with light rain likely across Scotland and Northern Ireland with some rain into Cumbria later this morning. In the afternoon it brightens up here with occasional showers around Irish Sea coasts. For England and Wales high pressure will keep it settled and dry. Fog patches will clear away from southern parts off England, otherwise dry with sunny spells. Just some rain to come across Shetland and the north of Scotland tonight. Most other areas will be dry, clear and colder with a frost developing inland along with a few dense patches of fog. Maximums of 9 to 14C.

Wednesday
An area of high pressure is expected to be centred over England with a front moving across the far north. Some rain is expected for the Northern Isles into the far north of Scotland. Morning fog patches, some dense will eventually clear leaving the bulk of the United Kingdom fine and dry with lots of spring-like sunshine. Overnight more persistent rain will move into much of Scotland and into Northern Ireland. Dry across England and Wales with a frost and some fog in the south of the country. Highs of 10 to 14C.
