Wednesday
High pressure is going to be centred over the south of the country through this morning. This is going to be bringing plenty of sunshine to all places and dry weather too. There will be some mist and fog patches in places, but these should clear away quickly and then the morning is likely to be fine and dry everywhere.
For Scotland it will be breezier and here there will be more in the way of cloud. Rain will be affecting the far north of Scotland and this rain could be heavy in places. Little change is expected through this afternoon when northern Scotland stays windy with more outbreaks of rain. Temperatures rising to 17C in the far south of England, 9C in northern Scotland.
Wednesday night
Staying fair through southern areas during tonight with clear skies and a few mist patches forming by the morning in the far south. Western coasts could see some patchy cloud, especially in Cornwall and west Wales. Ireland and northern England will be breezier with variable cloud and should be mainly dry. For the west of Scotland the night should be dry too, although winds picking up to near gale force and a chance of rain arriving by daybreak. Drier to the east and north of Scotland with more broken cloud here. Lows near 0C in sheltered parts of southern England, nearer 7C in northern and western Scotland.
Thursday
A cold front is expected to be passing eastwards during the course of Thursday. This is going to be bringing some heavy, showery periods of rain through much of Scotland and Ireland in the morning. This then pushes into northern England and Wales in the afternoon. For the rest of England the day should be dry and bright with sunny spells. Following behind the rain through Ireland and Scotland will be showers, some of them heavy, and these persistent over western parts of Scotland. Temperatures at 15C in southern England, 8C in western Scotland.
Friday
Some cloud may affect southern coastal areas of England on Friday morning, and there could be a few showers here too. However, it will be a mainly bright start to the day for much of England and Wales, as well as Ireland. Western parts of Ireland will have lower cloud ands some drizzle. For Scotland it is looking likely to be a windy day with the wind speeds to gale force, especially in the north and west. Periods of rain in northern Scotland too, and these could be heavy at times. Temperatures near 8 to 14C at best.
