Rain in the west Mainly dry after a cold start seiten=4 abk=focus

Wednesday
Wintry showers across East Anglia and southeast England through the day, especially during this morning. It will be a breezy morning in the southeast too with winds gusting to 40mph at times. The showers are likely to be easing off through the course of the day, with most places dry this afternoon.
For western Ireland and western Scotland there will be thicker cloud and some outbreaks of light rain and drizzle. However, this may well begin as sleet or snow, with a period of snow over high ground. This will be slipping eastwards in the afternoon, becoming more persistent through the day.
Inbetween these areas the weather will again be cold but mainly dry. There will be some good spells of sunshine for all, although the sunshine turning hazy through the afternoon. Temperatures rising to between 4 and 8C.

Wednesday night
Dry and clear through much of East Anglia and southeast England. Under light winds a widespread frost is going to be forming. Lows here around 0 to 2C.
Further north and west thicker cloud is going to be bringing periods of rain and drizzle for many with some low cloud shrouding the hills. A more persistent period of rain will be moving into western and northern Scotland as well as the north and west of Ireland, although this tending to be showery in nature. Lows here at 3 to 6C.

Thursday
A band of cloud and rain through much of England, most of it light but some moderate bursts are likely too. To the east it will be staying cloudy but mainly dry. To the west of this rain band, through Wales, Ireland and for most of Scotland the night will be dry with clearer skies. There will be some god spells of sunshine, with the best of this through western Scotland. Highs near 7C under the cloudier skies in central and eastern England, 12C through Ireland.

Friday
More cloud and outbreaks of drizzle through much of England. most of the rain is only going to be light and patchy, and there is likely to be a fair amount of mist around too. For Scotland, Wales and Ireland it should be brighter and drier with some spells of sunshine. Highs around 12C in southwest England, nearer 8C in eastern England.
