Thursday
A weakening front is lying through England and Wales this morning, bringing cloud and drizzle to these places. There could be a few sunny spells in East Anglia and southeast England at first, although cloud will be increasing here in the afternoon with some spots of drizzle too. Little change through the Midlands and much of southern England in the afternoon, the rain becoming lighter and more patchy though. Rain also fading from northern England and Wales and becoming dry here for the afternoon with sunny spells.
Scotland and Ireland should be dry with some sunny spells, and these lasting into the afternoon.
Highs at 6 to 8C through much of central and eastern England, nearer 10 to 12C through western and northern areas.
Thursday night
Cloudy through much of England and Wales overnight with outbreaks of drizzle and fog on the hills. Little change is expected through the night here, with lots of mist. Over Scotland and Ireland the night is going to be generally dry with mainly light winds. A widespread frost through Scotland and Ireland. Lows here around -2 to -3C, but no lower than 4 to 6C in the cloudier skies of England and Wales.
Friday
A damp and drizzly morning through most of England, Wales and Scotland. Lots of mist too, with fog covering high ground. Drier for much of Scotland with sunny spells, the best of these through northern and western Scotland. Sunny spells to across eastern Ireland, but to the west of Ireland cloud is going to be thicker with some showery bursts of rain. Highs near 7 to 9C through much of England, Scotland and Wales, but warmer in the sunshine through Ireland at 11 to 14C.
Saturday
Lots of cloud around again through much of England, Wales and Scotland. There will be a few spots of drizzle, especially in the morning, and these are most likely over the Welsh Mountains and the Pennines. Bright spells for western coasts of Wales and Scotland as well as southwest England. For Ireland there will be cloud and periods of rain throughout the day, this moving slowly east. Highs at 9 to 12C.
