Thursday
Low pressure is in control of the weather through today, bringing a colder and damper day. There will be some rain through the morning over much of central and northern England as well as a large portion of Scotland. Some of the rain could be heavy, although it will only be in a relatively narrow band. Following into western Wales, southwest England and Ireland through the morning will be some heavy showers. Into the afternoon rain and cloud affecting much of Scotland and perhaps Northern Ireland later. Further rain for northern England too, although through the rest of England, Wales and Ireland there will be heavy showers with thundery and hail, some of the showers wintry over the higher ground of Scotland. Temperatures at just 4C over colder parts of northern England, nearer 10C in southwest England.
Thursday night
A damp night to come through much of England and Wales. Mot of the rain will be through central and southern England as well as Wales. Heavy showers across southern coasts of England. Rather windy across northern England and Ireland with some outbreaks of rain here. Rather cloudy with some outbreaks of rain in Scotland, most of the rain along northern coasts. Temperatures down to 3 to 6C.
Friday
More rain to come across southern and central England as well as Wales. Channel coasts of England are likely to have some showers and these could be heavy. Breezy through northern England and Ireland as well as Scotland. There could be some showers, mot to the east, but to the west it should be drier with sunny spells. The far north of Scotland will have more cloud with some outbreaks of rain there. Temperatures at 9 to 12C.
Saturday
A weak front still across southern coasts of England bringing outbreaks of drizzly rain through Cornwall and Devon. Breezy through most of the rest of England and Wales, bringing cloud and some spots of rain at first. The cloud should break and the rain fade away with conditions then dry with sunny spells. High pressure over Scotland bringing dry weather here with good spells of sunshine, these moving into Ireland. Temperatures at 10 to 15C.
