Tuesday
A cloudy morning through much of the eastern Midlands, southeast England and East Anglia, with only the briefest of sunny spells. In fact, it won't be brightening up much through the day, although by evening the sun may just break through. For most of the rest of England and Wales as well as northern England the morning will be fine with plenty of sunshine. Little change for the afternoon with southwest Wales and southwest England likely to see the best of the sunshine. More sunshine to come over much of Scotland and Ireland, although there is the threat of a shower over western and northern Scotland. A fresher day, highs around 17C in Torquay, nearer 11C in Oban.
Tuesday night
Rather cloudy again through the southeastern corner of the country. Elsewhere the cloud will be broken, with clearer skies over Wales and northern England. Thicker cloud for Scotland and Ireland, with the risk of a few spots of light rain over western and northern Scotland as well as western Ireland. A slight ground frost in places for Wales, the Midlands and northern England as well as central Ireland with lows of 1C. Much milder in the far south of England at 5C.
Wednesday
A fine morning for much of central and southern England as well as Wales and southern Ireland; there will be plenty of sunshine and it should be dry here. For Northern Ireland and Scotland cloud is going to be thicker for most places with a risk of some rain over the west and north of Scotland. The most persistent of the rain across northwest Scotland. In the afternoon the rain may slip a little further south into central Scotland and possible into the Southern Uplands. Much of England, Wales and southern Ireland stay fine and dry. Highs at 10C in northern Scotland, 17C in southern England.
Thursday
A band of cloud and rain slipping southwards through northern England and Ireland bringing outbreaks of rain. This rain should be fading away through the course of the afternoon, although much of England and Wales as well as Ireland will be staying cloudy. Much colder weather follows to northern Ireland, northern England and Scotland with some good spells of sunshine to the west. In the north and east there will be showers, with an increasing risk of these turning wintry. A wide range of temperatures across the country with tops at 20C along southern coasts of England, but just 5C in northern Scotland.
