Rain spreads northeast Becoming very warm Thursday seiten=4 abk=focus

Tuesday
A cloudy, misty morning through much of the country, especially England and Wales. There will be some outbreaks of rain or drizzle over south-western parts of England and Wales and during the morning these will be spreading north-eastwards into Ireland, Wales and the rest of southwest England, steadily becoming more persistent. For the bulk of the rest of the country it should be mainly dry, although anywhere could have a patch of drizzle. The brightest of the weather will be reserved for eastern parts of Scotland in the morning where some sunny spells may break through the cloud. In the afternoon it may become quite sunny in the southeast, and if it does then it will be feeling muggy. As the afternoon progresses rain will spread through the rest of Wales, the western Midlands, northern England, Northern Ireland and southwest Scotland. Highs around 20C in any sunshine in southeast England, 12C in western Scotland.

Tuesday night
Overnight it will be wet through Wales and much of western England and Scotland, as well as Ireland. For northwest Scotland the rain could become heavy at times. After midnight most of the rain clears eastwards, and by the time the front responsible reaches East Anglia and southeast England it will have become a very weak affair bringing nothing more than a few spots of drizzle. Another heavier period of rain is expected over western Ireland. Temperatures will be muggy at 9 to 11C.

Wednesday
Some cloud and showery spots of rain through eastern England this morning. Brightening up to the west with some sunny spells coming through. Showers are going to be affecting Northern Ireland with more persistent rain and strong winds over western Scotland. These will be moving eastwards through the day with most of England and Wales then having sunny spells. Highs at 22C in the southeast, nearer 10C in western Scotland, with the colder air marching eastwards through the day.

Thursday
Cloudy on Thursday morning through the south as a warm front passes westwards. This will bring some spots of drizzle, but the main affect of the front is to introduce very warm air. The afternoon sees it muggy, dry and rather cloudy through southern England, although the cloud breaking at times to allow some sunny spells to come through. For Scotland and northern England as well as much of Ireland the day should be dry with sunny spells, although eastern coasts will always be susceptible to low cloud and mist drifting in off the sea. Temperatures to 24C in southern England, 14C in northern Scotland, so very warm everywhere.
