Wednesday
Cloud and outbreaks of rain through much of Scotland and northern England. The rain will be patchy and light, although in the afternoon it may pep-up through central Scotland. Northern and eastern Scotland should be brighter with sunny spells. Brighter weather into western and southern Scotland later.
For northern England there will be cloud and some patchy rain too, this extending southwards into Norfolk. Brighter in Northern Ireland with sunny spells, this sunshine extending through north Wales and into the Midlands.
Western and southern Ireland will have cloud and outbreaks of rain, the rain becoming more persistent through the afternoon. Over southwest England rain will spread eastwards through the morning, this moving northwards during the afternoon and becoming heavy. By the evening the rain will be through Wales, the Midlands and much of the far south of England. Temperatures at 12C in western Scotland, 19C over southern England.
Wednesday night
Rain and strong wind sweep eastwards and northern during the first half of the night, some of the rain heavy at times. The rain will probably linger through southeast England and northern Scotland. Through Wales, the rest of England, Scotland and Ireland there will be showers, some of them heavy in places. More persistent showers affecting the far northwest of Ireland. Lows at 6C for the west, nearer 11C in southeast England.
Thursday
Cloud and rain affecting much of southern and southeastern England, some of this heavy once again. It may be that the rain doesn't clear from southeast England all day. Cloud and rain across northern Scotland too, with heavy showers and more persistent periods of rain for western Scotland and Northern Ireland. It will be breezy for England, Wales and Ireland with showers, and these are likely to be heavy in the west. Eastern parts of the country will have more scattered showers, although even here some could be heavy. Temperatures at 12 to 15C.
Friday
Showery periods of rain passing through southern Ireland and into southwest England on Friday afternoon. Brighter weather in Wales and much of England with some sunny spells. A further area of cloud over southern Scotland with a few showers. To the north of Scotland it will be brighter with sunny spells. Temperatures at 11 to 17C.
