Windy and wet in south Showers in the north seiten=4 abk=focus
Thursday
Rather windy and wet across the south of England and South Wales this morning with outbreaks of rain, this heavier across Devon and Cornwall. Some persistent rain too across northern Scotland with lots of showers across southern Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England, though some dry, bright spells here too. In the afternoon it stays wet and windy across the south of England and the rain looks heavier as well. To the north it's an afternoon of cloud, sunnier spells and frequent showers, many heavy. Quite a chilly day to come with highs of 12 to 14C for most places.
Thursday Night
Continued breezy this evening and tonight with the rain clearing all but the far south east of England where it lingers. Some rain too for southern Scotland with a number of showers across western parts of Britain this evening. These clear from western England and Wales tonight. As it turns cold across northern Scotland, the showers may turn wintry over the highest of ground. Lows of 0 to 3C for northern Scotland otherwise 6 to 10C.
Friday
Increasingly windy through the channel today with a risk of gales along the coast. A dry, bright morning for central and eastern parts of England with some sunshine. More cloud and showers will affect Scotland and Northern Ireland with rain spilling in across Wales and south west England. In the afternoon this area of rain turns heavier and spreads into all parts of the United Kingdom. More rain in the east tonight with lots of showers in the west. Look for highs of 10 to 17C.
Saturday
With low pressure centred over the country it's an unsettled, breezy day of sunshine and showers, many locally heavy with a risk of thunder in the afternoon. Perhaps parts of the south east will escape with a dry day. Most of the showers die away during the evening as another area of rain gathers to the south west of Cornwall overnight. Expect highs of 11 to 17C.
