Increasingly windy across England and Wales today and this morning outbreaks of rain will sweep in across much of England and Wales with a few showers in the south east. Brighter with some sun and showers for Scotland and Northern Ireland. In the afternoon spells of rain will affect much of England, Wales and southern Scotland with showers across south west England and Northern Ireland, these heavy. Quite a chilly day to come with highs of 12 to 14C for most places.
Friday Night
Continued breezy this evening and tonight but very windy through the channel with the rain clearing southern and central parts of England and Wales. To the north rain will fall across Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England. Overnight most places will see some mainly light rain, perhaps dry in the south east of England. Lows of 7 to 11C.
Saturday
Lots of showers and a good deal of cloud across the United Kingdom this morning with the heavier showers across Wales and northern England and fewer showers in the south east. In the afternoon northern Scotland may see a spell of persistent rain while the rest of the country has an afternoon of cloud, sunnier spells and heavy showers. The far south east of England may stay dry. Another band of heavy rain is forecast to sweep into Wales and southern England overnight. Look for highs of 11 to 17C.

Heavy showers will fall across the far south of England this morning with most other areas very wet with spells of heavy rain. By the afternoon the area of heavy rain will lie across Northern Ireland and Scotland with plenty of showers to come across Wales and England, some heavy. It turns dry across Scotland tonight with more rain and showers across England and Wales. Expect highs of 11 to 18C.
