Wednesday
Plenty of cloud over the whole of the UK and Ireland during the course of today. Southeastern areas may just see a few glimpses of the sun early on, but these will not be lasting very long. During the morning periods of rain will be spreading from the west, affecting much of Wales and southwest England, perhaps becoming heavy on the Welsh Mountains. Further periods of mainly light rain across northern England and Scotland. Some more heavier rain will be spreading through Ireland. The afternoon becomes wet for most of Ireland and Scotland, as well as Wales and northern England. Drizzle and light rain for much of central and southern England, with lots of mist and fog affecting western coasts and hills. Temperatures at 10 to 16C and feeling muggy for most. becoming windier later.
Wednesday night
A wet night over all parts of the UK and Ireland. Heavy periods of rain will be passing eastwards, with the heaviest of the rain over Ireland, Wales, western parts of England and much of the west and high ground of Scotland. It will be windy through Ireland, with these stronger winds spreading into Wales, England and Scotland later. The rain should turn more drizzly through Ireland later on, with more mist and fog on the coasts. Lows at 12 to 14C, so very mild throughout.
Thursday
A dull, cloudy and damp morning. There will be further spells of rain and drizzle. Lots of cloud coming through all places, with mist and fog on the hills and coasts of the west. It is likely to be wet over much of Scotland with further heavy rain, and heavy rain too in northwest England and parts of western Wales. Inland areas of Ireland and England may become brighter in the afternoon with some very warm sunshine breaking through. In the rain in western Scotland temperatures will not rise above 14C, but in the sunshine over central England it may reach 22C.
Friday
A breezier day on Friday. There will be further cloud and rain for many in the morning, although this lighter and more showery for much of central, eastern and southern England. A heavier band of rain spreads south through Scotland, northern England and Wales, before crossing the rest of England in the afternoon. Heavy showers following to Scotland and Ireland with these merging to longer periods of rain at times. Winds may reach gale force in places. Tops near 14 to 18C.
