Thursday

The afternoon sees it becoming brighter over much of England, away from the coasts and also for parts of eastern Scotland too. Feeling very warm in the sunshine. Western coasts are likely to stay cloudy and damp with fog drifting off the sea, and heavier rain affecting the west of Scotland. Highs at 16C on western coasts, but 23C where the sun comes through.

Heavy periods of rain, thundery at times over northern England, Wales and into southwest England. This rain slips slowly south-eastwards to be into southeast England by the evening. before that much of the far southeast should stay dry with some sunny spells. Brighter weather, although with frequent, heavy showers for much of Scotland, Ireland and later northwest England and Wales. It will be a windy day everywhere with gales in Ireland and parts of Scotland. Temperatures around 20C in southeast England, nearer 14C in western Scotland.

Saturday
A mix of sunny spells and showers through Saturday. Low pressure is going to be to the north of Scotland and this will be bringing the heaviest of the showers to Scotland and Ireland. Temperatures at 10C in northern Scotland, 17C in southeast England.
