Gales, heavy rain Cold and unsettled seiten=4 abk=focus

Sunday
A dry, albeit cloudy morning across Northern Ireland. Elsewhere it's very windy and very wet with spells of locally heavy rain. Winds across the West Country will be at gale force. In the afternoon it may become dry across north east England but for most other areas it will be staying windy and wet with more rain to come. Just a few showers though for Northern Ireland. By the end of the afternoon it should become dry and brighter across eastern Scotland and north east England. Feeling cold today with highs only around 10 to 13C.

Sunday Night
As deep low pressure moves east, it becomes even windier this evening and tonight with strong north to north east winds in excess of gale force across central and southern parts of England. Expect showers around western coasts and the rain will clear all but the far south east by tonight. A cold night with lows of 0 to 2C in the north, 5 to 8C in the south.

Monday
Continued quite windy, especially across East Anglia and the south east. In the morning showers are forecast for Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and south west England and these become more widespread in most areas in the afternoon. Some rain to come for northern Scotland and the far south west of England tonight. Otherwise it's dry and quite cold. We could even see a touch of frost into parts of southern England. Expect highs of 12 to 23C north to south.

Tuesday
Showers will affect Wales with some rain for south west England and northern Scotland. Elsewhere a fair, bright and dry morning. In the afternoon there will be a lot of dry weather around but there is a risk of scattered showers just about anywhere with rain in the south west. A few showers across the Highlands may even fall as snow. Another area of rain sweeps into all areas during the night. Expect highs of 10 to 16C.
